Dr Robin Russell-Jones

Dr Russell-Jones was educated at Rugby School (Leaving Exhibition) Cambridge University (Medical Scholar of Peterhouse) and St Thomas Hospital London. He qualified as a medical doctor in 1972, gained MRCP in 1974, FRCP in 1990 and FRCPath in 2002
As a consultant dermatologist he worked at Ealing Hospital, the Royal Postgraduate Medical School (Hammersmith Hospital) and The St John’s Institute of Dermatology (St Thomas Hospital, London) where he was Director of the Skin Tumour Unit from 1996 to 2005. He is qualified both as a clinician and a dermatopathologist. At St Thomas’ Hospital he provided a regional referral service for patients with melanoma, and a national referral service for skin lymphoma and patients requiring photopheresis. He has over 200 peer-reviewed publications in the medical literature including articles in the Lancet, New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Cancer and Blood. He was awarded an A (Gold) merit award in 1999. He retired from the NHS in 2008 and now practices exclusively in the private sector. Dr Russell-Jones was lead clinician for skin cancer at Guys Kings Thomas’ (GKT), Chair of the UK Skin Lymphoma Group, Secretary to the British Society fro Dermatopathology, President of the St John’s Hospital dermatological Society, and President Elect of the Dermatology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine.
